USGA Rules apply to all tournament conditions unless local rules apply. As each tournament will be run on a different course, then whatever conditions apply for that tournament determine which conditions apply to SMJGA members at that particular time.
Point Total Championship Qualification
At the end of the 2008 season, the Association will invite the top 25 percent within each age bracket to a Point Total Championship. That top percentage will be determined by comparing a member's top 8 finishes against the field. In 2008, it will be the Association's goal to invite the remaining qualified* members to participate in a year end Consolation Tournament also to be held in August. *(participation in at least five sanctioned events)
Withdrawing from Play
If a member withdraws/no-cards/no-shows a tournament for reasons other than medical, that member shall be penalized two points.
Cheating
Cheating will not be tolerated. Members caught cheating will be suspended from the association and not allowed back for one year. The member in violation will also be required to write a re-application letter to the board at the end of his/her suspension. Cheating violations are the responsibility of on-site ruling tournament officials.
Playing Up
If a member plays "up" in age bracket, then that golfer will only be awarded one point for participation. |

Ages 9 and under are put into a single age group. |
